However, an international collaboration is needed because of the magnitude of situation. Since first suspicion in 2015, evidence suggests that Zika virus should be considered as a teratogenic agent, similarly to the toxoplasmosis, others (syphilis, varicella zoster), rubella, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex (TORCH) agents, until proven otherwise.
